Privacy statement
Museum Vanta keeps this simple: we only ask for what we need, we keep it no longer than necessary, and we do not pass it on to anyone else.
Who handles your data
Museum Vanta, Wijngaardstraat 10, 8000 Bruges, Belgium, is responsible for the data collected through this website. You can reach us at info@museumvanta.be.
The contact form
When you fill in the contact form, your message reaches us and is stored.
What we store
- your name
- your email address
- the category you selected (general, groups or press)
- the content of your message
- the language you were reading the site in
- the time your message was sent
- an encrypted version of your IP address — hashed, and therefore not traceable back to the original address
Why we store it
We need your name, email address and message in order to answer your question. The language and the time help us reply in the right language and without delay. The hashed IP address is used only to prevent misuse of the form, for instance by limiting automated submissions.
Where it is kept
Submissions are stored in a secure database that only the museum's administrator can access. We do not share them with third parties and we do not use them for marketing.
How long we keep it
Submissions are deleted after twelve months.
The notification email
As soon as you send the form, we receive a notification by email. That email is sent through the email infrastructure of this website's host.
Your rights
You can always ask which data we hold about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted. Send a message to info@museumvanta.be.
